History and Purpose
Calvary Christian School was established in 1979 as a ministry of Calvary Baptist Church and includes grades K4 through 12. The purpose of the school is to train and educate Christian young people to meet their fullest potential, both spiritually and academically (Eph, 4:11-15; Rom. 8:29).
Calvary Christian School works in agreement with parents in fulfilling the Biblical direction given for the education of our children (Prov. 22:6; Eph. 6:4b). We desire to see lives changed and molded for the glory of God (Rom. 8:29; Eph. 6:4; Eph. 4:11-15).

Why a Christian school education?
- A Christian school stands out as a distictive educational program. As an academic institution, it strives for excellence in every discipline. As an evangelical institution, it seeks to present the claims of the Bible to its students.
- A Christian school provides a learning environment which challenges the intellectual development of its students. Students in Christian schools have sustained a twenty-year record of achievement test scores which are significantly ahead of most non-Christian schools.
- The Bible is the focal point of the Christian school. Biblical principles not only unify the instructional program of the school, but they also permeate every other aspect of the program. The Bible is not on trial, or ignored, in the Christian school.
- For the believer, the home, church and school ideally form an educational tripod which stands firmly on the base, the Word of God. All three need to work together to prepare children for the Christian life. If the school "leg" of the tripod rests on a different base, children will have difficulty maintaining their balance as they face the secular world around them.
